This is one of our earlier projects — completed before Spirit Bright was formally founded, but carried by the same belief that guides everything we do now: that every child deserves the tools to build a future. At Roung Chrey High School in rural Battambang, students were receiving a good education, yet the school’s computer room held only a handful of old, barely working machines — a real barrier for young people heading into a world that runs on technology.
Together with Child’s Dream Cambodia, we converted the old computer room into a fully operational laboratory with the best technology a rural school could ask for. Installation began in June 2022 and the lab was up and running by the end of July that same year.
The school’s 682 students(332 boys and 350 girls) now have real, hands-on access to computers — the essential skills for continuing their education and finding meaningful work. Custom-made furniture and a teacher-training programme were built in from the start, so the lab would be comfortable, durable, and well cared for.
What we provided
- 31 new computers with internet access, plus 31 headsets
- One printer, one LCD projector, and two air-conditioning units
- Custom-made desks and chairs, and a full room makeover
- Additional training for teachers to run the programme and care for the equipment
- A maintenance and income-generation plan so the lab keeps running for years

Child’s Dream is a Southeast Asian foundation improving health and education for sustainable development. Since 2017 they have equipped computer laboratories in rural Cambodian schools, and they managed the renovation, installation, and teacher training for this project on the ground — ensuring the work was done well and built to last.
